Description

The University of Bahrain Ph.D. program in ESD focuses on the involvement in sustainable systems, including the creation of products and services using processes that are non-polluting, conserve energy and natural resources, economically viable, and safe and healthful for workers, communities, and consumers. The Ph.D. program in Environment and Sustainable Development equips students with diverse knowledge and perspectives to answer important concerns about environmental problems facing inhabitants of the planet. The program provides students with the necessary tools and techniques to achieve a deep understanding of the fundamental principles of environmental science and sustainability. Nearly all colleges at the University of Bahrain are engaged in this program since the program adopts an interdisciplinary approach to solving intractable sustainability problems. The program�s curriculum emphasizes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 with an emphasis on the environment. Students in the program will have the opportunity to work with multidisciplinary faculty and researchers in numerous research fields. Additional partners include the United Nations University, United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP).

Requirements

Fulfill the University requirements for admission to postgraduate studies. Hold a B.Sc. degree in physics or a related field (full time study) with a minimum GPA of 2.67 out of 4.00 based on the grade point system, or equivalent. Pass and interview. Provide at least two academic recommendation letters.
